Cyclocross Success

Andrew Tamplin finished up with a fantastic Senior runner-up spot in the Waldrons West Midlands Cyclo-Cross League after gaining 832 points from the 12 event he rode. With the winner gaining 901 points from all 13 rounds this shows that Andy was well capable of taking the overall win and will probably come back all the stronger next year. Karen Summers also impressed in her first season at cross.

Shown here is Andrew ahead of the series winner Neil Hayward on the final round at Baggeridge country part on the 29th of January. Neil went on to win and Andrew came 3rd.

New years day 10 results

The SCCA run their traditional out of season 'Wonky Wheeler' 10 mile time trial on New Year's Day starting at 11am. This relaxed event sees a mixture of riders out to post a good time and those more interested to see how much fitness they have lost, with many wearing fancy dress. Starting and finishing near the Seven Stars Inn at Cold Hatton, the course is a simple 'out and back' along the A442 turning at Shawbirch island. Riders are requested to park at the southern end of Sytch Lane, 1/2 mile south of the start. All welcome for this entry on the line event.

New Wrekin Sport Club Records

Liz White and Dan Lamsdell have been busy breaking club records this summer not just be seconds but minutes!

Liz broke the previous 30 mile ladies record in the SCCA 30 on the 21st of June with a time of 1 hour 24 minutes and 32 seconds.

Dan broken 2 records, the 10 mile junior record with a 22.05 and the 25 mile junior record at the Wrekin sport 25 on the 30th of July with a time of 59.46 a whole 1 minute 3 seconds faster then the previous record.
